Friends, Fun and a Frugalista in Greeley

Friday night we went out to the Rio in downtown Greeley where they were having a live music night with a blues band. We met Shana and Garrison there and had dinner and danced a little. We even ran into JR which was a fun surprise.

Saturday we ran a bunch of errands including going grocery shopping, to the library, out to Chinese food for lunch (we were really out of food), and I convinced Britton to stop at the Goodwill in Greeley. It’s a good thing we did! They were having a 50% off sale! That means most things that were usually $3 were only $1.50! I got a bunch of t-shirts for the trip to Puerto Rico for between $1-2 each. I found American Apparel, Old Navy, and other nice brands. The genuine Rolling Stone t-shirt in the following picture was only $1.50. Talk about being a frugalista! I am still so stoked about the deals! Does Puerto Rico have a Goodwill? I looked online but only found Salvation Armys. Anyway, after our great finds, we went over to Matt and Jamie’s and hung out with them and Erin and Chad.

Getting Excited for Puerto Rico

We leave on Jan 28 only 11 days away!!

We talked to Alwilda and asked her if she wanted us to bring anything. She couldn’t think of much. If anyone has ideas on something that is hard to get in PR but easy to get in the states please leave a comment.

She said that the title had been completed but they registered it incorrectly. She didn’t know exactly what was incorrect but she is supposed to talk to the lawyer on Monday in San Juan to find out. I was thinking maybe it was registered commercial or industrial??? Not sure, but things are moving which is really good news.

Bottom’s Up!

A skier at Vail resort in Colorado was left hanging upside down and pantsless from a chairlift last week. Thought this was too funny. pic4

They boarded the high-speed lift. The chairlift’s fold-down seat was not lowered, which caused the man to fall through the gap. His ski got jammed in the ascending chairlift, and that kept him supended because his boot never dislodged from its binding.

Feel the Noise- Puerto Rico Movie

Britton and I just watched the movie Feel the Noise. I think it is one of Jennifer Lopez’s films and I thought it was pretty good. They had a lot of music, especially reggaeton and hip hop. The parts I liked best were the scenes in Puerto Rico. There were a couple of scenes where they were playing basketball by the Fort -El Moro. We were like, I know exactly where that is…except when we were there a horse was on the court! Truly! See below…

Anyway, I’d recommend the movie. It’s not spectacular or anything, but it’s fun and gives you a feel for Puerto Rico and the connections to New York which they call Nuyorican.

I liked this song because of the coqui frog sounds incorporated into the beat.
