Happy, Busy Easter!

This weekend we were busy paint-prepping and painting our rental so that we can list it for rent again. We enjoy hanging out together and getting stuff done, so it was actually kind of fun.

But we were able to take a little break and enjoy an Easter lunch with my mom, her boyfriend, my aunt, grandma, and Britton. We aren’t very religious, but I am always glad for a reason to get together and be thankful for our lives and our family. We hope you all had a beautiful Easter as well!

    Hello-

I have enjoyed reading your blog and learning about your impending move from CO (also my beloved state) to Puerto Rico (also my future destination).

I saw your post on another Puerto Rico blog and was hoping you have found some other credible sources to research PR.

I have been living in Quito, Ecuador for the past two years and am looking forward to living on an island in the Caribbean. I work on the internet and teach English and will hopefully get a job with the same school that I teach for here.

I, like you, was wondering about the cost of living, social atmosphere, just a general feel for what living there would be like.

I would be so grateful for any suggestions you may have for research sources or any tips you have picked up along the way.

    Thank you,

    Kristin

Hi Kristin, welcome to our blog!

For us the research was visiting it for ourselves. When we got married we just stayed for 2 weeks with a rental car, but no other plans.

We found the island is very diverse in climate and culture. We found a man from Croatia living in the center of the island off a small road who makes furniture. We also have seen Santa Claus raking leaves in the jungle near San German. It’s a collection of all kinds of people doing interesting things.

We can certainly try to answer any questions and we have a few regular readers who comment and can help out!

I wasn’t familar with Quito so I just looked it up. Sounds like a pretty good sized city!
