Jaminate the Countryside + PR Info

I talked to Carlos in PR today about the status of the title. He said that they are just waiting on the department of resources to accept some property. Apparently in the title registration process, there was a spot of the land that was needed by the government to gain access to the river. An easement. So they are just waiting on them to accept the deed for that area, I am not sure how big of an area it is. He is going to call the lender’s attorney and see if we can re-apply for the loan now.

Things might be moving forward at least a bit!

Also in prepration for moving (not actually but maybe?) I got a new guitar so I can play some music in PR. I need to learn how to play some salsa, or maybe folks in PR would be interested in hearing rock? But here is the new guitar.

It is a 90’s era American Stratocaster Plus. I traded two other guitars I had and a little cash for it. I’d rather have 1 guitar that I really like as opposed to 2 that I don’t really care for.

Since this is a blog post, its only fitting to have some extra multi-media to get the full effect. I went downstairs and used my little mp3 player which has a horrible mic on it to record a 3 chord riff. Since the riff is specifically for this blog. Its “blogjam”.

For best results right click and save as. There is some silence before the playing actually starts.

I need to learn how to play Salsa. But I am a bass player first and think that would be the best way to start out in a new genre. On bass.

Wh… why in the world would you want to move to Puerto Rico??

Anyway, most Puertoricans love rock so if you are looking for a place to play you will find it.

I need something to record with other than my MP3 player..lol. If I had some multi-track recorder it would be nice to put bass and drums with it!

    Dark Soul,

What a cheery name! lol. I think PR just offers us something totally differnt than what we are used to. Plus there is food growing everywhere. That can’t be a bad thing.

Good to hear about the rock music, maybe I can make ‘salsa rock’.

LOL, I got that nick on my “emo” years back in high school in the 90’s and since most of my online friends knows me by that nick I just cant change it 🙁

Anyway, Puerto Rico is an awesome place to live, specially if you will be living in the countryside, BUT, be sure to have a secure source of income because you wont find a good paying job down there, at least they don’t pay as much as the continental USA jobs. There are other things like the political situation going on that just boils my blood whenever I hear the stupid governor made another moronic decision, but that will get you in time. But overall, like I said, if you have money and live in the countryside near a beach it will be like living in paradise.

BTW, please don’t mix salsa with rock, some people have tried before and it was awful, very very awful.

Here is what you need to know about Rock in Puerto Rico if you are serious about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rican_rock

And if you know Spanish this webpage has a nice community with events interviews and some other things. http://www.pulsorock.com/
