Omelette’s Got No Toe
Saturday, May 1st, 2010I noticed our chicken Omelette had a missing toe the other day -or at least half of it was missing. It was bleeding and she was limping a little. She is the really sketchy chicken. We got her as an adult chicken and so she wasn’t hand-raised like all the other ones. Plus Leghorns are known for being a little more skittish than some of the other breeds. Because of this, I couldn’t treat it or wash it out or anything. Anyhow, I managed to snap a few photos of her foot with the missing toe. I think her toenails must just be too long and she got it snagged on something. It looks like she is doing ok now though even without any of our help…
