A Year Blogging -And a New Header

I can’t believe it’s been about a year since we first started this! Time sure flies. We’ve been thinking about updating our header on this blog for some time now. We wanted something that better reflected the contents of the blog, that is namely, our life in Colorado and in Puerto Rico and really across the planet -transplanet. So, what do you think? Take a second and vote in our poll.

And while you’re at it, leave us a comment about the blog itself. Do you like the blog overall? Is there anything you think we should change? Any topics you like more than the others? Thanks!

The new header is lovely. It reflects the nature of your blog. And I like seeing your pictures. One little thing, though… The PR flag is backwards! Fran

    Fran,
(Sorry about not replying earlier, I did not even see your comment since it was on the poll itself and not on the blog until I scrolled back to the poll. I moved the comment to the blog part itself to make it easier for me.)

Thanks for the nice comment about the header. We decided to use a little poetic license with the flag because we wanted the eyes to follow the lines to the center of the header instead of out off the edge the way the flag points normally. We felt like it makes the statement of tying together our two lives. And Britton says the flag is just blowing in the wind the other direction. I have seen the American flag like this (backward) on military uniforms before. I don’t know if there is something symbolic about it? I wouldn’t want to offend anyone because I know how flags are symbols. Do you think it’s ok to leave it that way? Or does it make some kind of “statement” that we didn’t intend?

  3. Britton Says:

I found out why the American flag is backwards on soldiers uniforms. It is to symbolize when we used to take an actual flag with us into battle. The flag would fly backwards when you are charging forward.
